Protection of a person’s rights, harassment and mobbing: The employer's obligations

It is up to an employer to protect its employees from physical, sexual and psychological harassment at work. A zero-tolerance approach is required.

An employer must not allow any opportunity for harm to the integrity of any person within its company. Not only does it not have the right to abuse its own power over its employees, but it must also undertake to protect them from any possible assault or discrimination by other employees.

Acts of violence or threats of physical and psychological acts of violence, for any reason, must be prevented and stopped. Managers are required to issue clear instructions on this subject, for the well-being of everyone. A company undermined by internal conflict such as harassment and bullying (psychological violence) will also experience negative repercussions in terms of productivity.
