The various types of personal protective equipment

Personal equipment may be necessary to effectively protect employees’ health.

Where collective organizational or technical measures are not enough to protect workers’ health, the employer must provide personal protective equipment.

There are two types of personal protective equipment:

  1. Equipment protecting health (protection against intoxication, poisoning, influence of the weather on outdoor work, etc.);
  2. Equipment protecting against accidents (against impacts, fire, electricity, power-cuts, etc.).
