They often work with sums from CHF 20,000 to CHF 250,000, depending on the structure and size of the portfolio. These are often businesspeople who are contributing to the growth of the economy. In the initial phase, they often act as both a consultant and mentor to young entrepreneurs.
Despite their name, these are very different from not-for-profit organizations. Just like venture capital companies, business angels also want to make money from their commitment. They therefore always ask to see a business plan. They also like to establish a personal relationship with management, where possible.
