Digitization of Payment Traffic − Invoices via eBill

(10.05.2023) With eBill for Business, companies can now receive and pay invoices digitally using eBill.

Swiss payment traffic continues to be digitized, simplifying processes for all invoicing parties involved. eBill makes it easier for private customers to receive and pay their invoices. They no longer receive their invoices by mail or e-mail, but they have access to them directly in their online banking, where they then also check and pay them easily. With eBill for Business, companies can now also receive and pay their invoices digitally using eBill. Companies can choose to receive their eBill invoices in two ways: directly in online banking or seamlessly in their own business software.

All authorized employees can then use the eBill portal to connect their company with other invoice issuers in order to receive eBill invoices directly in online banking. Moreover, all authorized employees can view and review invoices for the company and then approve or reject them for payment.

In its own business software, the bank sends eBill invoices to the company seamlessly via the proven channels already used (file transfer such as EBICS). Once the eBill invoice is received in the business software, booking and payment follow the company’s standard processes. Archiving invoices is just as convenient and does not require any adjustments to existing processes.

Currently, eBill for Business is offered by several Swiss financial institutions, with more to follow.

For more information about eBill for Business, invoice issuers and businesses should contact their bank or software partner.
