The SME Portal of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) provides a large amount of information and many tools to small and medium-sized enterprises, from the establishment of an enterprise to its succession: practical information, online administrative procedures, news articles, law amendments, etc.
The SME Portal is managed and updated by the SME Policy sector, the center responsible for questions relating to small and medium-sized enterprises. The SME policy jurisdiction is a part of the Directorate for Economic Promotion, which is tasked with promoting exports, promoting conditions of company establishment in Switzerland, regional policy, tourism policy and the SME promotion policy.
Its key duties include putting framework conditions into place for financing SMEs and eliminating administrative barriers, including e-governance. In this spirit, EasyGov.swiss was developed in recent years in parallel to the SME Portal. The objective of these two platforms is to promote information and reduce the administrative burdens of SMEs.
