(11.08.2025) Since 7 August, Swiss exports to the US have been subject to a 39 per cent tariff. Switzerland considers this drastic levy to be unjustified and a considerable burden on local export companies. The Federal Council now has a duty to work quickly to secure a reduction in tariffs and reach a constructive agreement in the trade dispute with the US. Stable and reliable trade relations with the important export market that is the US are essential for the Swiss economy.
