ESO- Swiss Industry Information Day
In view of the next large ESO contracts scheduled for 2018 and related to the construction of the E-ELT (European Extremely Large Telescope), an Industry information day is organized in Zurich on the 04.10.2017.
ESO (European Southern Observatory) is the pre-eminent intergovernmental organization in astronomy operating a number of the world's most powerful ground-based telescopes in Chile.
ESO generates a large number of high-tech industry contracts. Coming contracts relate to new optomechanical and optoelectronic systems for steering heavy equipment with extremely high accuracy. Others are for hardware and software for the operation of complex telescope instruments, mathematically advanced image analysis, and optimal retrieval, archiving and processing of extremely large amounts of data.
At the meeting, representatives of interested Swiss companies will be offered information about ESO procurement rules, given an introduction to the E-ELT project and receive a detailed description of E-ELT future commercial tenders.
