Union representation: a bridge between employers and workers

Unions, which protect workers' rights, act as contact points with company bosses and the government.

Unions are workers' associations which exist to protect their rights. They ensure a healthy balance with employers. Employees in many sectors are represented by unions and refer to these bodies for any matter concerning their employment rights.

Unions act as contact points for employers for all kinds of issues, such as negotiation of working conditions, salary and occupational pensions. They also give their members legal advice.

Collective bargaining agreements are the result of collaboration between unions and employers or employer associations. See also:
